Excessive pH fluctuation

A one-minute tutorial

This issue can be very confusing because most people believe that they are not adding the right amount of pH + or pH – in the water and that it is therefor their own fault that they can’t balance the water properly.

If you’re experiencing excessive pH changes with minimal pH corrections then most likely…. the Total Alkalinity… also known as the TA value needs to be corrected.

TA …shows the water’s resistance to change in pH level.

This value should be between 60 and 150 parts per million (ppm).

If the level is too high then you can add pH-… This will decrease both pH and the Alkalinity levels.
If it’s too low then add alkalinity increaser… not pH +.
