The Tylö Steam Commercial is a high-capacity steam generator designed for commercial and other demanding steam-room installations. Available in 9, 12 and 15 kW versions, it can be specified to suit the size, construction and ventilation of the room.

Designed for continuous operation of up to 24 hours, Steam Commercial combines a large water tank with automatic draining, flushing and three-stage output control to support reliable operation over longer periods.

For larger steam rooms, up to three Steam Commercial generators can be linked using Tylö's Multisteam system, increasing the available output to as much as 45 kW while helping maintain steam production when individual generators carry out an automatic drain cycle.

Steam Commercial is available as a 9, 12 or 15 kW generator, with the correct output determined by the size, construction and ventilation of the steam room. Lightweight glass systems generally require less power than rooms built from heavier materials such as tile, concrete or stone.

A single Steam Commercial generator can serve steam rooms up to around 38 m³ in suitable conditions. The actual requirement depends on room volume, wall construction and ventilation, so the generator should be sized as part of the complete steam-room specification.

Scale up with Multisteam

Where one generator is not enough, up to three Steam Commercial units can be linked together using Tylö Multisteam. This takes the total system output as high as 45 kW and extends the supported room volume to as much as 114 m³, depending on room construction and ventilation.

Sized to the room, not just the floor area

Steam-generator sizing is based on the complete room rather than one simple dimension. Volume, surface materials and ventilation all affect the output required, which is why we would always specify the generator as part of the overall steam-room design.

PERFORMANCE & PROTECTION

Designed for Demanding, Continuous Use

Steam Commercial is built for installations where a domestic steam generator would simply be working for too long or at too high an output. Tylö recommends it for continuous operation of up to 24 hours, making it suitable for settings such as spas, health clubs, hotels and other frequently used steam rooms.

Automatic draining and flushing

The generator automatically drains after use and rinses the tank after draining. It can also be set to drain automatically during operation, helping reduce the build-up of minerals in the water reservoir and protect the water-level system and internal components.

Water treatment requirements depend on both water hardness and operating time. For heavily used commercial installations, Tylö may specify a water softener or a combination of softener and reverse-osmosis filtration.

Scalable with Multisteam

Where one generator does not provide enough output, two or three Steam Commercial units can be connected together using Multisteam. The generators operate as one system, with a primary unit controlling the secondary generators.

Multisteam also reduces interruption to steam production during automatic draining. Rather than the entire system stopping, the generators drain in sequence so at least one can continue producing steam. Multisteam requires an Elite Cloud control panel.

  • Do I need a water softener?

    That depends on the hardness of the incoming water and how long the generator will operate each day. Tylö specifies water treatment for harder water and for longer operating periods, with some installations requiring both a water softener and reverse-osmosis filtration.

  • Where is the steam generator installed?

    Steam Commercial is installed outside the steam room in a dry, ventilated and accessible position with suitable electrical, water and drainage connections. It should be installed as close to the steam room as practical.

  • Can Steam Commercial be used in a domestic steam room?

    Yes, where the room size or expected operating time calls for it. For most normal domestic installations, however, the smaller Steam Home generator will usually be the more appropriate option.

    The Tylö Steam Home can be configured at 3, 6 or 9 kW. The correct output depends on the size and construction of the steam room, as well as factors such as ventilation.

  • How do I know which output I need?

    Generator sizing is based on more than room volume alone. Glass and lightweight wall systems require less output than tiled, concrete or stone rooms of the same size, while mechanical ventilation increases the demand on the generator. We will specify the appropriate configuration for the complete installation.

  • Is a control panel included?

    No. The Steam Home requires a separate Tylö Pure or Elite Cloud control panel.

  • What is the difference between Pure and Elite Cloud?

    Pure provides straightforward control of temperature, operating time and lighting. Elite Cloud adds a touchscreen interface, Wi-Fi and app connectivity, remote access and scheduling.

  • Is the steam outlet included?

    No. The compatible Tylö Bahia Home steam outlet is available separately.

  • Does the generator flush automatically?

    Yes. Automatic flushing is included and can be adjusted to suit the local water quality.

  • Is a water softener required?

    Tylö recommends fitting a water softener with its steam generators, particularly in medium to hard water areas where scale can affect performance and component life.

  • Can the Steam Home be used with aromatherapy?

    Yes. The Steam Home supports compatible Tylö aromatherapy equipment, which is specified and sold separately.

  • Where is the generator installed?

    The generator is installed outside the steam room in an accessible, frost-free location. It requires a suitable water supply, electrical connection and drainage.

  • Is the Steam Home suitable for commercial use?

    The Steam Home is intended primarily for domestic installations. Tylö offers a separate Steam Commercial range for longer operating periods and more demanding commercial environments.
